Vicki Sims, PT, CHT
Co-Director

Vicki Sims, PT, CHT, is a clinical co-director of Gainesville Physical Therapy in Gainesville, Georgia and has practiced in the community since graduation from Georgia State University in 1976. She served as a director of physical therapy at Lanier Park Regional Hospital for nine years. Her clinical specialties included evaluation and treatment of sacroiliac joint dysfunction, hand therapy (certified 2001) and orthopedic manual therapy.

Vicki is active in research and has co-authored four clinical papers on the sacroiliac joint. In addtion to her practice, since 1994, she has been teaching continuing education courses including "The Evaluation and Treatment of Lumbar Spine and Sacroiliac Joint Dysfunction." Vicki has the distinction of being invited to speak at the 1995 International Conference on Sacroiliac Joint and Low Back Pain in San Diego, California.

Vicki co-authored three articles for publication and was invited to present at the 5th World Congress on Lower Back and Pelvic pain in Melbourne, Australia in 2004. She has also written the definitive book on the treatment of SI joint dysfunction.

She accompanies the physicians to surgery to correct the SI misalignement before surgical intervention. She has been to surgery with over 4,000 patients undergoing this type of surgery over the last 26 years.

W. David Weiss, MD

W. David Weiss, MD is a graduate of Vanderbilt University, earned his Medical Degree at Tulane University School of Medicine and completed his Internship at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas. He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Georgia Baptist-Scottish Rite Hospitals and his Fellowship in Sports Medicine with James R. Andrews, MD, at the Hughston Orthopaedic Clinic in Columbus, Georgia. He is board certified in orthopedic surgery and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, a member of the American Medical Association, Medical Association of Georgia, a Past President of the Hall County Medical Society and a past Chief of Surgery at Lanier Park Hospital. His specialty interests include Arthroscopic Shoulder and Knee Surgery, ACL Reconstruction, Total Joint Replacements, General Orthopaedics and SI dysfunction. He has been mentored by Dr. Alan Lippitt, orthopedist who specialized in SI surgery for 25 years and is well published in this field.
